Nocturia —waking to urinate during the night —is common in adults and can have many causes. When it occurs together with loud snoring, witnessed breathing pauses, or non-restorative sleep, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) should be considered in the differential.
Many people with OSA remain undiagnosed. Raising awareness of nighttime symptoms can help patients seek appropriate evaluation and, when indicated, therapy such as positive airway pressure under medical supervision.
This educational white paper is not a substitute for individualized medical advice. Discuss persistent sleep or urinary symptoms with a qualified clinician.
